Full Reveal Front Porch Kit "Gather Together"

Today is the day the full kit is revealed!! Here's a photo of the complete kit. The kit will be available for pick up and/or shipment on Thursday, 10/29. If you would like to pre-order, you can do so at the Little Blue House, by phone (817) 431-7930, or order online at www.thelittlebluehouseonline.com.

And here are my projects that I was so inspired to create!

First is my pie pan wall hanging. I spray painted the pan a light aqua color and then layered  the inside of the pan with papers and diecuts. For the outer paper edge, I cut a large doily using my Silhouette and wrapped it on the outer edge of my pan. I popped up my title and diecuts in the center of the pan, then adhered some beads to the leaves.
Next is my little owl. I used the dish cloth from the kit attaching yarn for the legs. I cut the wings from the blue burlap and then stiffened them with fabric stiffener before attaching them the owl.
This is my single page layout using the gorgeous paper by Simple Stories. I cut the crossed arrows using my Silhouette Cameo as well as the title. I used the round center of the page on a previous project (the center of the pie tin wall hanging) so I simply backed the page with the blue woodgrain piece and started layering. I heat embossed the chipboard branches with gold embossing powder, then layered the owl on top if it.

Next up is my treat bag that I filled with yummy candies for my daughter! I made a little paper weave for the front of my bag, then used the packaging from the diecut pieces in the kit to make a little shaker tag to hang off of the front.

Here is a card that I made by fussy cutting the truck from one of the journal cards from one of the pieces of patterned paper. I had a small scrap of blue burlap leftover so I layered it under the truck for more interest and texture.
Last project is my two page layout featuring photos from Thanksgiving. I love the tiny fork and spoon included in the kit. It was fun to use on my layout!

Quick Fall project made for The Little Blue House Blog

I made this really quick cute treat bag made for the "After Dark" Crate Paper Collection - perfect for some fall yummies!

I simply stamped my sentiment with letter stamps between the gold glitter stripes which were already on the bag. I cut some leaves using my Silhouette Cameo and Crate Paper and then spritzed the leaves with fall colored spray mists. Spraying the mists caused the leaves to curl up when dried - making them look like real fallen leaves - so I used a tiny pop dot in the center of each leaf to attach to the bag, leaving the curls in them to give texture to my treat bag. I adhered some ribbon at the top and bottom of the bag to frame my title.

Quick, easy and a fun way to share some treats with someone you love!

Check out this and other fun fall projects on The Little Blue House blog here that will be going on all month long!

Front Porch Kit Full Reveal "Happy Home"

Today is full reveal day for The Little Blue House's Front Porch Kit called "Happy Home" ! This kit is bursting with color and all things happy, with a mix of wood accents, fun fibers & fabrics, great printed papers & embellies too! You will also enjoy the special surface in this kit...It is a shadowbox from Maya Road! Perfect for your favorite family photos. Another BONUS with this kit is it includes a custom-designed, exclusive stamp set from Reverse Confetti.
Here the projects I made with the kit - first is a layout of a photo of my kids. I absolutely love this picture of the the three of them - they were all home and hanging together in my bed talking and visiting and it brings back memories of them when they were little and we'd spend the morning in bed watching tv in my bedroom. They are truly my blessings!!
Next is a two page layout featuring photos from a band trip we took with my youngest daughter a few years ago. It was hands down one of the best trips I've even taken and I was lucky enough to have my older daughter and mother come along too. I chose all the red white and blue pieces of the kit for my layout. The journal stickers in the kit were perfect for labeling each photo with a bit of journaling.
Here is another layout and it features a couple of photos of my son and daughter being silly together. They have such a special bond and I love capturing those moments of them. I used the polka dot house stamp to create the background on the white cardstock and fussy cut the flowers from one of the patterned pieces of paper from the kit. I layered everything on top of a strip of the burlap for added texture and dimension.

Next is a card that I made by layering paper scraps and a diecut bird that I cut using my Silhouette. I love that fat twine piece included in the kit perfect for a bird to perch on!
Last is my shadowbox project - again featuring my kids. I had a great time creating with this kit and traveling down memory lane remembering fun memories of family time together. Being an empty nester this is what scrapbooking is all about for me - having my fondest memories documented for me to pull out enjoy whenever I need a pick me up from missing the kids.
I hope you enjoyed seeing the projects I created with this gorgeous kit. Even after making all of these projects - I still have tons of product left to capture more memories! Hurry now and order your kit today before they fly out of The Little Blue House -

The Little Blue House Review - Crate Paper "Craft Market"

I have been a huge fan of Crate Paper products for a long long time so I was thrilled when I received some beautiful goodies from their new line "Craft Market" to create with from The Little Blue House! The colors of this line include teal, pink and GOLD - one of my favorite color palettes to use right now. The fun mix of embellishments - from the puffy gold stickers, the accent stickers, to the wood veneer pieces - are perfect for my style of creating layers on my layouts.
I used a couple of the journal cards cut from the "Project Glitter Paper" piece to start my layering, then after deciding where I wanted my photo to be I added the additional textures.
I used some of the stickers flat and then used pop dots to give some of them dimension. I bunched up some gold thread and layered it under one of the popped up stickers.
I used the puffy stickers as accents on the flat stickers - the hearts on the bicycle tires and on the center of the camera.
The large wood veneer ampersand added just the right pop of color to my title to catch the eye and lead right to the photo
which is where I think the most important part of my layout is. That's me with my younger daughter!! This line of paper crafting goodies makes my very happy!! :)

Here's a list of supplies I used

You can order all of these and so much more from The Little Blue House online store! And you can check out some of the other projects made with this line on The Little Blue House Blog.

I hope you have a fabulous and creative day!!

Hugs, Valerie
