Layout for Sketch Challenge at Scrap with V

I made this layout for the January sketch challenge at Scrap with V. I flipped the sketch on it's side. This is of my sister and me when we were toddlers. I framed the layout and gave it to my sister for a Christmas present! I used several different Studio Calico kits to make this! TFL!

Some layouts from a recent class

These are few of the layouts that I made for a journaling class that I helped teach at Inspired to Scrap.com. The bottom layout was featured on the October Afternoon blog a few days ago!! In a couple of days, I will post the technique I used for the reverse applique technique that I used for the stars on the middle layout!! It's a fun technique that I learned from Davinie Fiero at Studio Calico!! TFL!!

More Crate Paper Snow Day fun with Maya Road too!

I made this cute banner using the Maya Road chipboard stocking album and Christmas words and Crate Paper Snow Day patterned papers and chipboard elements! I just love the colors and how versatile the Snow day line is! And my favorite technique of using the Maya Road chipboard albums is to make them into a banner. I had one leftover chipboard stocking so I made it into a gift tag!

I used the Echo Park Wintertime line for this and some Maya Road chipboard letters which I Maya misted and covered with Glossy Accents! TFL!

Crate Paper - Snow Day!

I received Crate Paper's Snow Day line in my design team box from YourScrapbookStash.com and I just fell in love with the retro colors of this line! And their chipboard elements and epoxy brads are always perfect for cardmaking!! TFL!

Fun with Echo Park Wintertime!!

I made these really cute Snowman Soup toppers and Tussie Mussie using the Echo Park line Wintertime kit. The line includes a couple of pieces of paper that have 4 different 6x6 designs on each piece that are perfect for the Snowman Soup toppers! The pieces of paper are called "damask" and "frost" and are on the backsides. You can see them just peeking out behind the front design!

I simply cut the pieces of paper into the 4 squares and folded them in half. I decorated the front halves of the toppers and then attached them to the top of the plastic baggie that has the Snowman Soup "recipe".

I also used the sticker sheet and the journal tags patterned paper for some accents on my topper!

Here's the tutorial on how I made the Tussie Mussie! I used a piece of the Wintertime paper and some of the stickers to accent it!

I love how Echo Park coordinates everything together and you get such a versatile, huge selection to choose from! And at a great price too!! Thanks so much for looking!! :)

TGIF!!

But my how this year is flying by!! I can't believe 2010 is almost over! I think it's because I've been very busy the last half of the year. But it's been a great year so far ;)! These are a couple of layouts that I did for some design team work. They are both of my older two kids - I got some great pictures of them lat week! The top layout was for Yourscrapbookstash.com using October Afternoon and some Studio Calico veneer wood frames. I made the flower using a technique that I learned from Stacey at Inspired to Scrap! It's my son and his fiancee - another engagement picture! The bottom layout is for my lss - Scrapbook Corner in Little Rock. All My Minds Eye and Prima - but I got the little birdie at Anthropologie (it's a paperclip!). TFL!!

I'm a glittery mess.....

but I just adore the Lost and Found line by My Minds Eye!! I made this layout using most all of their product except for the Prima and the KI border. This is my son and his fiancee - he got engaged last month and I took some engagement pictures for them this past weekend over Thanksgiving break. Love this cute picture of them!! I used a sketch by Susan Stringfellow from Scrap with V. TFL!

Inspiration hit me last night!

I've been in kind of a scrapping funk for the past week, and then last night, something just hit me and I cranked out two layouts!! I made these using my Nov Studio Calico kit. I stayed up until 2:00 AM but sometimes I think that's the best and quietest time for me to create! I really love the Crate paper line that's in the kit. I think I might need to get some more from my lss before it's all gone! I usually don't buy any extra patterned paper if I've gotten in a kit because once I've used it, I really like to move onto something new! But this paper is just so versatile - and I love the colors! The top layout is me at my niece's wedding. The title says it all!! The bottom layout is my two youngest kids this past summer. I took them for a photo shoot and got some really nice pictures of them together! TFL!

Sketch Challenge at Studio Calico

It took me 3 days. for some reason, to use the Sunday sketch here to make this layout!! I just couldn't wrap my brain around it! I finally got it done using my November Studio Calico kit. I used my two new favorite punches - the large scalloped circle edge punch and the scalloped deco edge punch - both made by EK Success. TFL!!

Love this line of Crate Paper - so very much!!

I went from my least favorite Studio Calico kit last month, to my most favorite Studio Calico kit EVER this month! It is filled with this wonderful line and I love this line of Crate Paper so very much!! It's the Restoration line and the colors and design are just so gorgeous and easy to work with! My favorites are the layered chipboard pieces! Yum!! This is a layout of my daughter and me (horrible pics of me :P, great ones of her!!), but. Whenever we get together we always scrap together. She's the only person I ever scrap with!! I wish she lived closer...sigh. She has a cute little Polaroid camera that we took pics with at a crop at my local scrapbook store when she was visiting in October. TFL!

Halloween Layout!

I don't usually do many Halloween layouts, but I had to scrap about our cool pumpkin that we carved this year! I got the cutest line of Halloween paper by Cosmo Cricket in my dt box from yourscrapbookstash.com this month and I thought it was perfect for my pumpkin!! Isn't that little chipboard diecut pumpkin and candy corn the cutest?? TFL!

Maya Road Sewing Machine Mini Album - Family

I had a lot of fun working on this mini album that I made for my lss - Scrapbook Corner in Little Rock - for design team work. I used lots of October Afternoon thrift shop pp and some things I've had lying around for a while! For the covers, I took a vintage pattern and mod podged it onto it, then used some walnut stain to darken it a little. You can see the complete album here at 2peas. TFL!

Recipe challenge at Studio Calico

I have to say that the Studio Calico kit I got last month (October), has got to be my least favorite ever! And, I've been getting their kits going on 2 years now! It just seemed that a lot of things just didn't go together and there just wasn't much to it. But, I've been plugging along trying to get a few layouts made with it before my November kit gets here tomorrow! One of the dt gals at SC came up with a recipe challenge that helped me use at least some of my kit and I really like the way it turned out! The recipe was to use:

kraft paper
buttons
a tag
journal strips
diecut paper
and an alpha stamp

This is a very old picture of me with my month old first child Samantha. I look like such a baby - and let's face it I was a baby! We both were, but I grew up fast raising her and her brother who came just a year later! TFL!

Halloween Fun!!

I just had to post a couple of pictures of my dd in her costume that she wore to scare people in the haunted house at our church on Halloween night. She was playing an insane person. This dress has been recycled for so many costumes, but it was nice and dark and flowy and the makeup and hair were actually the stars - as well as her attitude! We had watched several shows earlier that day about the scariest haunted houses in the US and she acted creepy like the people she saw on the show! You can tell she was hamming it up in the pictures I took of her!

We also carved our pumpkin using an idea we saw on TV too - our puking pumpkin. It was easy and fast and so very fun!! My dh decided to eat a bunch of the Halloween candy before the trick-or-treaters came by (I had plenty with leftovers!!), so I used all of his wrappers as decoration...LOL! I still have him out by our front door!! TFL!!

October Afternoon - Thrift Shop love!!!

When my lss boss gave me some October Afternoon to work with for some design team work I was ecstatic! I just love everything October Afternoon and I really love their Thrift Shop line! I've had a vintage dress pattern sitting on my desk forever - circa 1939!! - that I've been waiting to use and I thought it would look perfect on this layout! I wrapped strips of it up for the centers of the flowers and then I used a little strip that I had leftover as the bow attached to the top of the banner!

I think this is my favorite layout that I've done so far! It turned out just like I pictured it in my head - love when that happens because it just flies together and no agonizing about the design! :) Everything on this is from October Afternoon (accept for the vintage pattern pieces ;) and the pearl brads!) TFL!
