Elle's Studio January Kit Reveal!!!!

I am so excited to reveal the layouts I made using the January 2014 Elle's Studio kit and products!! The journal cards in the kit this month are perfect for recording any personal goals this year!! And new this year are the matching stamp sets that are very limited and available to go with the kits each month!!
My first layout features products from the January kit and the 2014 digital cut file. I love the colors in the kit and the journal prompts on the cards are perfect for recording my goals for the upcoming year!!I also love the little bits and pieces for layering!!
The Noel line is perfect for all my Christmas layouts that I need to catch up and do from this past year! I was inspired by one of the patterned papers in the Noel collection to use circles so I punched out several spots from the pp and used some circle spots from the Bits and Pieces collection. I used some wood veneer pieces as accents to my circle around the photo. I diecut the title using my Silhouette Cameo and some Noel pp. I love how the circles really make the square photo pop!!

My last layout features the Penelope line - a beautiful girlie line with a gorgeous mix of colors and a fun set of stamps that go along with it!! I placed a piece of patterned paper under the layered line of journal tabs, and bits and pieces. I used the stamp set as accents along the edges.  The sayings are perfect for a photo of my youngest dd and I love using pieces that have ready made titles on them as I did with the tab piece! And the scroll heart piece layered across the photo is one of the digital cuts that is available this month!

Here are the links where you can purchase everything!

Don't forget that you can purchase the kit at a reduced price of $9.99 on the first day of reveal, but the price goes up at midnight so don't delay!!!!

Thursday Sketch at Elle's Studio Blog.....

This is the Thursday sketch that  went up today over on the Elle's Studio Blog . I was asked to use it to create a project with my take on the sketch and here it is...
I was inspired by the white space and the repeating pattern above and below the photo! I punched (actually used a real punch!!) snowflakes using the vellum in the Noel Paper Collection
for the repeating pattern and I layered on different elements from the Noel Collection by Elle's Studio!

You can upload your take on the sketch and also win a $10 gift certificate to the Elle's Studio Store!! Just upload your take to the gallery here and then link it back to the blogpost here . A random winner will be announced with the next week's sketch. It's that simple!!

I can't to see what you create using this sketch!! Good luck!! :)

Vintage Christmas....

I love making layouts using vintage photos of my sister and me when we were little! I have a collection of photos that I had printed from some slides I found at my mother's house that I pull out every once in a while when the right paper line  - whether it be the designs or colors of the line - catches my eye and gives me that nostalgic feeling. Both the designs and the colors of the Christmas add-on collection in the December 2013 Studio Calico kits prompted me to use this photo of my sister and me from 1970. It's not the best photo because it has a red flair right down the middle of the both of us, but I feel lucky to have a few photos of us back then!

I loved the harlequin like shapes that were left behind in the punched out diecuts that were in the kit. I decided to quilt together different patterned papers around the photo with the leftover piece and then I filled in each diamond with different embellishments. I used pops of gold with the rub-ons and a heat embossed stamped ornament (I used American Crafts glitter gold embossing powder). The little sticker stamps reminded me of the Christmas stamps that were available during that era (and I used to collect them)! I included pops of aqua and pink with the puffy stars and dots and some patterned paper. I included a vintage style Santa flair too! The title cut that I purchased from Silhouette America and cut on my Cameo also had a throwback feel to it! I cut it out of white cardstock and then sprayed it was Gold Lame Heidi Swapp spray mist. I think that the aqua ribbon really pulls the layout all together and gives an all wrapped up look to my layout. This is definitely one of my favorite layouts I've made recently!! :)

Thank so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

Hanging with my girls....

This layout features a couple of photos that I took with my daughters. I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, but I was lucky enough to spend some time with them both in October!

I used products from my October Studio Calico kits and a few products from my stash (a diecut from Heidi Swapp, a heart stick pin from Maya Road, and a tab from Elle's Studio)! I cut the spiral doily on my Silhouette Cameo using some American Crafts POW glitter paper.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!! :)
