Some creations using a star template....

Just Imagine/Kreaxions has this really cool tool for making the prettiest doilies! It's a star shaped template that you trace and cut out of paper and then use their 4 in 1 punches with the A guards in to make them. I made the large doily (under the smaller doily and flower) on the card using the star template and the 910 4 in 1 flower punch by Kreaxions, while using the 910 4 in 1 border punch for the bottom border. For the red doily under the photo in the layout, I used the star template and the 911 4 in 1 heart border punch, while using the 911 border punch for the bottom heart border. You can check out my blog post with further instruction at Kreaxions here. TFL!!

April Guest dt work for Tallyscrapper!

My April kit from Tallyscrapper was waiting for me last night when I got home from work and I was inspired from the start by the gorgeous papers and embellishments that Pinky put together in this kit!! It has so much variety that none of my layouts look similar at all! Yet everything goes together so perfectly!! She even included some of the new gorgeous book covers by 7 Gypsies. I used on the covers (cut it in half) to make a small journal notebook. You should go and get one today - here's the link!! TFL!

Well it took me all week....

but I finally finished my layout I started last week before the kids came into town for spring break!! I worked on it here and there until I had everything tweaked just the way I wanted it!! I did some heat embossing (loving that Zing!!) with that cutie bee stamp I got in my Studio Calico March kit using apricot Zing. I also heat embossed the envelope scrolly edge too. It's an older picture of Danielle, but it's one of my favs and the colors are just gorgeous in it - and match the papers perfectly!! TFL!!

I've had to hold this in for 4 days......

and it's been killing me!!!!!

I got the call last week from one awesome lady (Hi Heidi!!!) who informed me that I was invited to be on the GCD Studios Design team!!! I was hoping, but totally not expecting a call at all when Heidi Sonboul - the Design Team Coordinator extrordinaire from GCD - called me! My heart was pounding and I don't really remember everything that she said to me....lol.....but I am beyond thrilled that I was chosen to be a part of such an awesome team with such fabulous ladies!! It's gonna be a fun year!! :)

Katy Perry Challenge

I'm usually absolutely horrible at challenges where I have to use a song lyric - and we were even assigned to a certain lyric from Katy Perry's "Baby You're A Firework" song, but Christine was so very kind and gave me a lyric that wasn't too hard and I thought it described my youngest daughter perfectly!! Thank you Christine!! :) I used some Maya mists to mist some stars and them I misted some white Mister Huey onto a "bubble" stamp and stamped down the middle between the diecut paper. I love the way this turned out!! And I LOVE this layout - my favorite I recently made (and I REALLY loved my teatime layout!). I used my very brand spanking new Studio Calico kit I got yesterday evening (March's kit). I think I'm really going to enjoy using this kit up!! Thanks so much for looking!! :)

Using some scraps.....

When I have a beautiful piece of patterned paper it's just so hard to get rid of all the bits and pieces, so I love when I can take the leftovers and use them on my layouts! The grid patterned on these cool KI Memories calendar pages makes this easy to line up different pieces of scraps! I obviously have a slight butterfly obsession - I just can't help they are all so beautiful...LOL! Some of the butterflies are from the new BoBunny line called Gabrielle - it's gorgeous!! I'm so thrilled that Scrapbook Corner (where I work and get a discount!!) got some of this yesterday!! I worked hard to get it all in the computer, priced and out on the floor, but I also got to pick out what I wanted...hee! The subject of the layout is my new relaxation part of the day - teatime = me time!! I got that cute little pink teapot and some awesome loose leaf teas from the coolest little tea shop called Teavana! You can also order their stuff online - you should check it out!! TFL!
