@ New Orleans Jazzfest

My oldest daughter took this picture of herself and me with her Iphone while we were at New Orleans Jazzfest last year. We were so excited because we were going to see Jimmy Buffet! It was a fun day (even though it was scorching hot!) and Jimmy was awesome!! This was us at the start of the day, because by the end of the day we were so hot and sweaty and sunburned!!

I used products from my September Studio Calico kit to make this layout. I first misted the base patterned paper with white Mister Huey where I wanted to do all of my layering. I cut apart our initials as well as the arrow from the very cool Jenni Bowlin stencil page and backed it with some patterned paper. I used the map piece of paper that has where I live in Arkansas poking out at the top above the photo. I used a couple of diecuts that I had previously cut from my Silhouette Cameo (the yellow bursts) and actually got some of my punches out and used them  - my first punch ever, the Martha Stewart butterfly, the heart punched from the aqua cardstock, and even a border punch which I used  on the red patterned paper. I also added some SC wooden veneer asterisks which I have been hoarding since I don't have very many left and they don't make them anymore. When I first got my kit this month, I didn't think I'd like the Amy Tangerine vinyl letters, but once I started using them I found they were the perfect size for my titles and a great font and I've just about used them all up!

You just never know until you try something if they are really your style or not!! That's what I love about Studio Calico kits - I get things that I normally wouldn't purchase myself and I use them because they coordinate so well with everything else in the kits and more often than not I like them!
