I found some old pillowcases at a yard sale that were made of lace that I cut up into individual doilies. I love the look of doilies and I wanted to frame some, so I altered a plain wooden frame that I picked up at Hobby Lobby for $4 to highlight my doilies. I used some patterned paper made by Echo Park - the "walk in the park" line - and rolled them. After spray painting the frame, I applied all the rolled paper pieces to the edges. I attached some of the smaller doilies to the corners. Then, I replaced the center piece with a piece of patterned paper (also from Echo Park) and applied larger doilies to the center. I wanted the middle to be more dimensional, so I made a flower from another piece of the paper, and used a Bazzill brad for the center. I really like the way this turned out and I have it sitting on the easel on a bookcase in my living room! All of the patterned paper can be found at yourscrapbookstash.com, where everything is 20% for the month of July - just use the coupon code JULY20.
