October Afternoon - Seaside
This is the cutest nautical line that I've seen in a while! The colors are just so vibrant and the graphics are adorable!! I made this layout using a sketch by Julie Bonner who is the guest designer at YSS this month. You still have a chance to enter the sketch challenge here until the end of September where you can win $10 in Stash cash to use on whatever stash you'd like from YSS and a gift pack of goodies!! Loving the new papers that are out this season!!
Here are a couple of projects that I worked on for some design team assignments for yourscrapbookstash.com. One is layout I did using the new Jenni Bowlin Family Tree line and the other is a card that I made using the new Echo Park line Happy Halloween.
For my "in good company" layout I used another piece of patterned paper as a template to cut one of the Jenni Bowlin pieces that I had into the shape that I wanted. I used some Maya Road pleated ribbon to frame the picture. I also used a vintage doily that I spritzed with some Maya Mist (in cream) and a few of the Maya Road vellum butterflies. The photo is of my daughter and me, and it's not the greatest picture, but it makes me happy to see it, because we were having such a good time laughing and having fun while we were in Key West!
For my Halloween card everything is from the Echo Park line (except the Prima flower). I used one of the border stickers across the bottom with a piece of the border patterned paper and for the sentiment I used the journal tags piece of patterned paper. I just love the colors and the way it's so easy to make cards using the journaling tags!
All of the scrapping supplies can be found at yourscrapbookstash.com where you can receive 20% off your entire order just by entering the coupon code September2010 at the time of ordering! There is also a new contest going on now! Here are the details!!
NEW CONTESTS!
Did you think we'd give you time off?
Its time for the next TWO contests. TWO contests = TWO winners.
First:
Halloween/Fall Contest
Rules: Link up any projects to THIS post using Fall or Halloween papers. If you don't celebrate Halloween OR you don't have Fall, go ahead and challenge yourself to use those papers for something unrelated. Like, Halloween papers on a non-Halloween layout.
To clarify - you can upload layouts or cards for Halloween based projects or non-Halloween projects but you MUST use Halloween products. This goes for the Fall part as well.
Altered Item Contest
This is where you show us your skills altering something other than a 12x12 space.
A plain wood picture frame, a paint can, or even a mini album! Alter something. Then share with the class.
Other Rules: You MUST use the Mr. Linky links (which can be found here) to share with the class. Feel free to upload to our User Gallery and share with everyone, just come back and link it up here.
Prizes will be mailed out to the two winners after the contest has ended. They include a box FULL of goodies AND $10.00 in Stash Cash.
Please share original work only. Can be based on sketches, but the layout must be your idea.
Deadline is October 15th.

One last layout before diving into DT work!!
I got this layout completed last night using my September Studio Calico kit! I had the idea the first day I dove into my kit so I wanted to get it done before I started in on some of my design team work. I covered the Maya Road frames with pp and them painted around the edges. I used my new "{smile}" stamp in the title and I also used one of my favorite stamps from an older SC kit - my journal stamp. I wasn't sure it would be big enough when I first saw it, but I've used it on several layouts now and I love that I can stack them if I have a lot of journaling! TFL!

Inspiration landed on my doorstep!!
I got my September Studio Calico kit yesterday and even though I opened and oohed and aahed over everything last night, I had no time at all to even think about what I was going to do with it! But, this morning after looking through the piles of pictures that I keep on my scrap desk, I found a picture that I've been wanting to scrap forever - I was just never inspired by any products that I had...until now!! When I ordered the add-on Studio Calico kit, I thought I'd never use the Cosmo Cricket chipboard pieces. But as soon as I saw that picture of my son Jonathan from 20 years ago, the pinwheels just clicked with me!! Love when that happens - and that happens so often with my Studio Calico kits!! I think I'll never use some of the product - then I end up using all of it and wanting more!! I went pinwheel crazy but I just love the way this turned out and the colors just make me happy!! :) TFL!!
Get ready for a Blog-hop and some great prizes!!
I will be part of a blog hop that is going to be sponsored by yourscrapbookstash.com during the week of Sept. 19- 25!! Not only will I be giving away 3 prizes that week, but everyone else on the design team will be giving away 3 prizes too!! That's a chance to win at least 6 times or more!! We will be giving away gift certificates to the YSS store (codes that can be used immediately) and some of us will be giving away a special prize!! Check back to see more details soon!!!!

Using up my August SC kit before I get my September one!
I've been taking the time to actually use the kits that I've been buying this month...LOL. I'm about halfway through my August Studio Calico kit and I'm working on a layout right now! I got the idea for this layout the other day when I saw the picture combined with that awesome Studio Calico patterned paper, and I finally put it together today! I used my new EK Success star border punch that I got at M's the other day with my 40% off coupon. I actually found it in the kid's section with the American Girl's scrapbooking stuff ;)! It's so cute and red! The photo is of Jonathan from this summer while we were visiting Greer's Ferry. This water was ice cold and it felt wonderful on a scorching hot day! TFL!
