I used a copy of one of the very few photos I have of my youngest when she was a baby on this layout! I just didn't take many photos back then (but I've since made up for that with the many many photos I have of her now!! LOL).
I used products from my November Studio Calico to make this. I was going for a kind of abstract heart using a piece of the chevron patterned paper as the bottom and the photo and embellies as the top of the heart. I did some layering with the American Crafts Amy Tangerine Diecuts and some diecuts I made using my Silhouette Cameo.
The pennant with the "you" cut out inside is a modified diecut that I made using an exclusive Studio Calico diecut that was given to us in the "Cut it Out" class that's sponsored by Silhouette America. I cut it using a 12 x 12 piece of washi paper. That paper is so very delicate and not very easy to cut on the Cameo, but I used the vellum setting on the machine and it just cut through the top layer and kept the bottom piece intact so it was like a sticker sheet. I love the veneer feathers in our kit this month and I like to use them just natural - even though I have seen some very gorgeous coloring techniques on them! I used some very old acrylic Jenni Bowlin stars from my stash and a Pebbles button on the heart on the corner. Trying to use and not hoard - which is so very hard with the cute things I love!! LOL
Thanks so much for stopping by have a wonderful day!! :)

November 12 on the 12th - a little late.....
I can't tell you what my problem's been lately - I just haven't the mojo lately to create much - but I did force myself to complete my 12 on the 12th layout for Ella publishing, albeit a little late. I did have in mind to work on this while we were away this weekend. I packed up all my scrappy goodies to work on projects while in the cabin, but instead I decided I'd rather ride horses and four wheelers on a friend's ranch and eat and have fun outside instead. There went all my good intentions! I did complete this tonight, though and I'm glad I did! All the products I used on this were from my stash and I love that! It's been a while since I've just 'shopped' in my own scrapgoodies!! LOL All of these photos were taken in the surrounding parks that surround where I live. The leaves are just so gorgeous this year (surprisingly with the drought this summer!) and they are lasting forever! Usually by this time of the year all that's left are bare branches!
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the title pieces and I colored some SC mistable leaves using Mister Huey (sunset, Real red, and Taxi yellow). The tags are made by Ormolu.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fab day!! :)

You shine.....
Still scrapping some of Danielle's senior photos! The pictures we took in the harbor are definitely my favorites!
I used products from my November Studio Calico kit to make this. I love the SC circle graph paper - it reminded me of the sun, so I cut the center circle out to use in that way. I stamped one of the stamps that was in the Poodle Skirt add-on kit all around the outside edge using Prima ink and then machine stitched in between most of the stamped images. After layering the diecut pieces (which are Dear Lizzy by American Crafts) I added some wood veneer "sunrays" (the triangles) and a couple of the SC feathers. I cut the word "shine" using my Silhouette Cameo and the AC POW glitter paper for some added shine! For one more pop of color, I used one of the BG vellum stickers down the side and some splatters of Mister Huey.
Just an FYI - I totally messed up the stamping when I stamped the first stamped image and it was upside down!! And also, the stamped edge did not meet up at the two ends when I got all the way around the circle and there was a huge gap! That's where most of the clustering is on the left side!! Love hiding my mistakes!! ;) If only you knew how many times I do that!! That's why I'm not afraid to just go for it - most boo-boos can be covered!!
Thanks for looking and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

Instagramming Herself.....
I think Instagramming is a word....LOL! I started an online class at the beginning of the month that I'm taking through Studio Calico that is sponsored by Silhouette America. I made this layout using some of the cuts offered with the class and a challenge there to use one of the new cuts on a project. I used a photo of my youngest daughter taking photos of herself on her IPhone to send to her friends on Instagram. She had just gotten all dolled up for the Homecoming Parade that she rode in being a part of the Sweetheart Court. This was a different side of my daughter that I don't see very often - she's a jeans and t shirt kinda girl. :) She was very excited and had the best time riding in the parade and then being announced with her escort at the football game! Of course after all that, she (and her escort) rushed to get into their band uniforms to perform in the half time show!!
I used products from my October Studio Calico kit with some added Martha Stewart doilies that I've had in my stash. I cut my diecuts from American Crafts gold POW glitter paper (love that stuff and cuts like butta with the Silhouette!).
If you look really closely, you can see the picture of herself that she just took on her IPhone!! :)

One Fine Day at the Fair.....
I love this patterned paper by October Afternoon - as soon as I saw it I knew that I wanted to use the photos I had taken at our local Fall Festival our town has every year. It's just a tiny fair that's only open for one day, but we like to go watch the local singers and dancers perform while eating some yummy fair food - our favorite is the food the Philippine ladies from our church make!! The thing is - I never let my kids go on any of the rides at local fairs - I don't trust any of them except the merry-go-round and they're too old for that ride now!!
I used products from my October Studio Calico kit to make this. I layered the rest of the tiny vellum envelopes that I had left that came in a couple of the add-ons this month under the photos. I can't believe I actually used up all of those things!! I misted a couple of doilies with gold Mister Huey, then layered some smaller white doilies on top of them. I diecut 2 different titles pieces using my Silhouette Cameo. I did a bit of splattering and and layering of embellishments and then my page was done!!
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!! :)

The Story.....
Lately my youngest and I just don't see eye to eye very often and we butt heads constantly! But, last week, she unexpectedly got a day off from school for some senior stuff and I thought that it would be a good time to do some bonding. I suggested we go to a movie that she's been wanting to see but is only showing in limited theaters. The closest place to see it was 45 minutes away. The movie is called The Perks of Being a Wallflower and we both really enjoyed it very much! It was nice to have normal conversations and discussions with her! We both enjoyed the movie so much we went to the bookstore after we ate lunch and bought the book to read (I like the movie much better than the book!!). I really wanted to capture that memory so I made a layout! The photos are of the two of us on the day and the book we purchased.
I used products from my October Studio Calico kit to make this. I used the wide elementary lines washi tape across the middle of the base of my paper. I love that you can still see the pattern underneath it! I used my Silhouette Cameo to diecut some Polaroid frames and the title piece as well as a couple of accents. I even included the ticket stub from the movie theater! The journaling is partially hidden in a vellum envelope that's attached in back of the photo. I loved the excess selvage strip on the paper bottom of the pp, so I cut 1/2" off the top of the page to make it perfectly square! I even did a stamped image (the "love this arrow") across the page and the date stamp above the day that we spent together. I love the enamel dots by MME - and I used them in several places on my layout!!
