I am constantly pinning ideas on Pinterest to use for scrapping inspiration, and I finally used 2 of the pins on this layout - here's the link to the quote http://pinterest.com/pin/38139928066828394/ and here's the link for the inspiration for the cascading sequins/paper circles http://pinterest.com/pin/38139928066259910/ .
I went with a monochromatic feel to the layout - not something I usually do - but I like the effect and I really wanted the quote to shine. I have collected tons of sequins, so I wanted to use a lot on my layout which I achieved not only in the cascades but I also filled a vellum envelope with them too!
For the quote, I printed onto my cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo - I finally broke into the pens!! Since I don't have a large format printer ( nor the space to house it), the Silhouette is perfect for printing on my 12x12 layouts!!
I hadn't planned on the black arrow paper layered on top of the gray and verse papers, but I had a horrible mishap with some stamping and had to cover it up. Not exactly what I wanted, but not a bad cover-up!
Sewing sequins down is kind of tricky - some flew off as a sewed over them and some even broke - but I just glued some more on top of the sewing!
I used some products from my May Studio Calico kits (scrapbook and PL), but I also used some papers from previous kits (February) and even a paperclip from my stash that I've had for several years!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!
this is such a fantastic page! I loved it as soon as I saw it in the Studio Calico gallery ... super inspiring :)
